As a family practitioner, I balance modern science and research with the wisdom of natural approaches. Visits include holistic diagnostic workup to determine the root causes of a condition. Treatments focus on restoring wellness from the ground up, weaving together lifestyle counseling and supportive therapies — including nutrition, botanicals, physical medicine, and environmental health. I make a heartfelt effort to understand my patients and treat the whole person.
A native of Whidbey Island, I earned my naturopathic medicine degree from Bastyr University. My undergraduate is from the University of Washington, where I studied community health. Following my passion for health equity, I volunteered with nonprofit clinics in Nicaragua and Seattle, providing care to underserved patients. Coming full circle, I joined Mukilteo Natural Health Clinic in 2017.
Along with general practice, I focus on children's health, hormone balance, digestive complaints, heart disease, diabetes, autoimmunity, and complementary cancer care. I also offer alternative pain management options, including ultrasound, cold laser, naturopathic manipulation, and hyperbaric oxygen.
Out of the clinic, I spend my time parenting, playing outside, making music, and gardening. I also write regular articles for the Mukilteo Beacon & EcoParent Magazine, and continually update my understanding of natural medicine through training and research.
Herbal medicine is based on the use of plants with healing properties that are taken internally or applied to the skin. Since ancient times, many different cultures have used botanicals to treat illness and improve vitality. Currently, research into botanical medicine is on the rise. At Mukilteo Natural Health, treatments are based on both traditional knowledge and scientific evidence. Our clinic uses the highest quality tinctures and botanical supplements available.
Education & licensure:
As a parent and a provider, I am inspired by the safe and effective treatment alternatives for children's health. It is a joy to witness children heal and recover with natural medicine. Our clinic offers a common sense approach to children's healthcare including visits and well child exams. Treatment plans follow the therapeutic order, using the least invasive therapy first. When necessary, naturopathic physicians have the ability to prescribe pharmaceuticals.
Our clinic recommends products that are held to the highest standards of purity and potency, all of which are third party tested. Products include tinctures, nutraceuticals, botanical supplements, and topical preparations.
